Firstly distribute negative sign

[tex] -11-7p=-1-2p [/tex]

[tex] -11+1=7p-2p [/tex]

[tex] 5p=-10 [/tex]

[tex] p=-2 [/tex]............Answer

Because

-11-7p=-(1+2p)

Distribute

-11-6p=-2p- -1

Add 2p to each side

-5p-11 = -1

Add 11 to each side

-5p=10

Divide each side by -5
