Answer:

This is because fire can destroy and burn things, even underground. Plants need good soil with nutrients to grow, and animals and plants to eat. Without plants nor animals, a forest can take even longer to bounce back. Believe it or not, an ecosystem missing even one thing will throw the whole thing off balance.
