Permian-Triassic extinction theory stated that the mass extinction happened because huge asteroids falls down the earth and wiped out the dinosaur era. 
Personally, i don't believe this theory because many pieces of evidence was found from the fossil that indicated the die-out happened gradually over million of years which contradict the current extinction theory
