I am definitely sure that the answer is: The leaning tower of pisa is actually the campanile of the cathedral complex at pisa. The tower was build on a dense clay mixture and it wasn't strong enough to hold this massive construction and the tower began to lean. Giovanni di Simone caused the tower to lean more by adding there more floors. Then he tried to fix it by balancing the weight of the sides, but it leaned even more.
