y = mx + c.
m = the gradient : i.e. The slope
c = the y intercept, (where the line passes through the y axis)
The slope (gradient/) = 2
So now you have y = 2x + c
You have also been told that the y intercept is 1
So now you have the equation : y = 2x + 1
The line on a graph goes up, as the gradient is positive.
It is also a straight line as the x has a indices of 1.
