Doing this, the equation will become:
2x^2 + 3x + 1 = 0

b is the coefficient of x, therefore, b = 3
c is the coefficient in the term that has no x (x^0), therefore, c = 1

Then, we will substitute in the equation to get the desired value:
b^2 - 4ac = (3)^2 - 4(2)(1) = 9 - 8 = 1
