Because if the corrupt election in the 1824 election, which unfairly chose John Q. Adams as president, he wanted to fight for the common man. So, when he was finally elected president, he dismanted the National Bank  which he felt went against the common man, he also made the role of president more powerful and decreased the power of the other branches. This was done because back then only the president was elected by the people, other was appointed.
