The Meiji was a dynasty in Japan who ruled 1868 and 1912. They managed to keep up with modernization in order to maintain the wealth of the Empire, while keeping the traditional traits of the country by having a marked bureaucracy – which was necessary in order to accomplish the necessary changes – and re-establishing economic principales (based on agriculture), the military bases, and the culture.
