When Eisenhower left office, he warned the nation about the dangers of increased military spending and the growing power of what he called the MILITARY-INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX.

It is the informal bond between the military and the arms industry which supplies it. With this alliance,  the military obtains the war weapons and the defense-minded corporations profits to provide them.

Dwight D. Eisenhower discussed the  military-industrial complex in his farewell address on January 17, 1961.
