Why is the amoeba considered an outgroup in this cladogram?

Amoeba is not considered as a body part but it has similar characteristic to unicellular and multicellular, this is the reason why it is an outgroup in the cladogram. In addition, to be considered as an outgroup, an organism must be part of a group on the tree but just very similar with the members on that tree.
