Well a mixture is less permanent and also it can be easily taken aprt where a compound does the opposite of those things.

In a mixture you can take things out and separate them but in a compound they are more combined and you can not separate things into a group.
Ex:
Mixture- Trail mix
in a trail mix you can separate the ingredients

Compound- Tea and sugar
The sugar combines itself and you can not take it out of the tea
