Displacement is change in the position of object

so we can define it as

[tex]d = x_f - x_i[/tex]

[tex]x_f = - 4.27 m[/tex]

[tex]x_i = -1.88 m[/tex]

now displacement is given as

[tex]d = -4.27 - (-1.88) = -2.39 m[/tex]

so it will displace by 2.39 m in negative direction
