First we remove the denominator 8

We multiply the whole equation by 8

So equation becomes

8y = 5x + 3

Now we move 5x to the left hand side, we subtract 5x on both sides

-5x + 8y = 3

Now we remove the negative side from -5x  by dividing the whole equation by -1

5x - 8y = -3
