What binomial do you have to add to the polynomial x^2+y^2–2xy+1 to get a polynomial: not containing the variable y?

Since you do not want the variable y, you must eliminate [tex]y^{2}-2xy[/tex]


Therefore, to eliminate it, you must have the opposite of it, making the answer  [tex]2xy-y^{2}[/tex]
