In un quadrato di lato [tex]l[/tex], l'ipotenusa è [tex]l\sqrt{2}[/tex]. Pertanto, l'area del quadrato è [tex]l^2[/tex], mentre il quadrato costruito sull'ipotenusa è [tex](l\sqrt{2})^2=2l^2[/tex].
