Gastropods, snails and slugs, are a large taxonomic class within the phyllum Mollusca.

Snails and slugs, are mollusks.  They have a sprial like shell most times, but not always, a mucousy slimey pad that they propel themselves on.  A soft head with no skeletal support that has eyes and antennae
