Given Data

mass of solute Na 10.0 g

mass of solvent 1000.0g water

to calculate:

molality of solution

molalilty is defined as the mols of a solute divided by the Kg of the solvent

therefore mols of Na = mass/ molar mass

= 10.0g/22.98g/mol

= 0.44 mols

1 Kg = 10000. grams

Therefore molality of solution

= 0.44 mols/ 1 Kg

= 0.44 mols/Kg
