The equation is:

We can distribute the -2 into the parenthesis

[tex]\begin{gathered} -2k+10+2k=5k+5 \\ 10=5k+5 \\ \end{gathered}[/tex]

now we solve for k

[tex]\begin{gathered} 10-5=5k \\ 5=5k \\ \frac{5}{5}=k \\ 1=k \end{gathered}[/tex]
