how is a simile and metaphor alike and how are they different between each other?? anyone?

Both a simile and a metaphor refer to someone or something. The difference is, a simile uses like or as whereas a metaphor is just a figure of speech. I hope this helps.

They are alike because they both compare items to each other.
Simile: uses "like" or "as"
Metaphor: doesn't use "like" or "as"
