A tree 7 ft tall grows an average of 6 inches each year. Which equation models the tree's height h after x years?

6 in is (1/2)ft so it grows (1/2) ft each year. Since it starts at 7 ft, the height, in feet, after x years is given by

 

h = 7 + x/2
