Are two atoms with different amounts of neutrons the same element or different elements?

The nucleus of an atom contains neutrons and protons bonded tightly together. The same chemical element can have a different number of neutrons and still be the same element. The atoms of the same element with different numbers of neutrons are called "isotopes."
