y = 8/cos60 = 16
x = sqr(16^2 + 8^2) = 8sqr(3) = 13.86 approx

Right triangle 30 60 90

short leg = 8
hypo = 2 x short leg
hypo = 2 x 8 = 16
so 
y = 16

long leg = √3 x short leg
long leg = 8√3
long leg = 13.86

x = 13.86 or 8√3
