Skills that the child can accomplish with assistance but can't yet perform independently are part of the zone of proximal development (ZPD).
ZPD is the concept that describes the difference between what a learner can do without help, and what the learner can't do. In this case the child can accomplish some skills alone but can not perform them independently.
